Washington Butler is a Puyallup native who was fascinated by the arts at a very young age. She sang in choirs, entered singing competitions and performed in both high school and local theatre. She studied at in the University of Southern California and relocated to Los Angeles where she played Belle the beautiful and Beast Princess at Disneyland for a period of about one year and a half. The main objective was to get a good agent for talent. After that, she was auditioning for roles on TV as well as film. Butler guest starred on her own TV series CSI: Miami. She also played an appearance in the web-series Luke 11:17. It was directed by Don Stark. Butler performed the role of lead on I Spit on Your Grave (2010) the film that is a remake of the 1978 film that was a cult classic with exactly the same name. Butler was initially put off by its violence and nudity but the character development and feminist angle helped to convince her. Butler played Jennifer Hills who is a writer, and she gets assaulted by a group in a forest. The character is determined to get revenge on her attackers. Steven R. Monroe, director of the film, announced it on the 8th October 2010. Butler began filming The Stranger Within, a psychological drama The Stranger Within alongside Estella Warren and William Baldwin in Mallorca Spain beginning in November of 2011. Butler joined the film's cast in Los Angeles of Treachery, starring Michael Biehn. Filming began in Los Angeles on June 12, 2012. Butler appeared in The Demented, a 2013 horror film starring Michael Welch, Kayla Ewell and Michael Welch.
